Agent Banking has emerged as a key initiative driving Financial Inclusion across Bangladesh. Modhumoti Bank PLC provided this service in February 2016, marking a significant milestone in extending modern banking to unbanked rural communities.

Over the years, Agent Banking has expanded rapidly, bridging geographical and financial gaps while gaining strong acceptance among rural customers.   • Any legal business owner
  • Social Entrepreneur

AGENT’S ELIGIBILITY:

To qualify as an Agent Banking partner, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:

The Agent must be well reputed locally, with no significant complaints or involvement in activities against the state

  • Minimum education at H.S.C Level.
  • Socially acceptable & well known person in that locality.
  • Have to financially capable person & ability to handle cash.
  • Required Minimum capital for outlet arrangement & requirement BDT 5-8 lakh for Agent Banking operation in Rural area and BDT 10 Lakh & above in urban area.
  • The Agent must be well reputed locally, with no significant complaints or involvement in activities against the state
